Brief Program Description
This course is designed for Over 12 weeks program at VAC to prepare you as a Instrument Rated pilot.The instrument rating will allow pilot to learn to fly an aircraft in flight conditions that requires watching your instruments. This qualification is required to work in an airlines as a pilot.

Admission Requirements
Hold valid PPL / CPL , Intermediate English Level , Aviation Medical Exam class 3 or 1 , Criminal Check, Mature behavior.
Learning Objectives*
An applicant shall have knowledge about following subjects:
Canadian Aviation Regulations; Instrument Flight Rules and Procedures; Meteorology, Instruments; Radio and Radar Systems; and Navigationan applicant shall successfully complete a minimum of 70% on the written examination Instrument Rating (INRAT) and flight test as pilot-in-command of an aeroplane in accordance with CARs “Flight Test for the Issuance of a Instrument Rated – Aeroplane” of Standard 428 – Conduct of Flight Tests.
Method(s) of Evaluation*
Students’ progress in the program is measured by their successful completion of the courses listed in the program outlines; a minimum of 90% of the all course marks as well as each assessment component of the courses is required to successfully complete the program.
Completion Requirements*
Flight Training: 50 hours of cross-country flight as a captain40 hours instrument, of which not more than 20 hours of ground instrument.
Ground Training: There are no minimum ground school requirements for this rating; however there are courses available to aid you in preparation for the written examination.
A minimum of 90% mark for each of the program’s courses as indicated in “Students Assessment Methods” as well as a minimum of 100% in attendance as indicated in “Attendance Expectations”

Homework Hours
Average homework hours; 25 hours per week, these include students’ required work on chapter quizzes, case studies and projects .
